PISMO BEACH, San Luis Obispo County — October 25, 2026. The City of Pismo Beach says its 2026 Paving Maintenance Project covers roadway repairs and pavement improvements identified through a citywide pavement condition study. The City Council awarded Pavement Coatings Co. a $978,790.20 contract on August 4, 2026, according to the city’s official project information page.

Where does the October timetable stand?

A municipal schedule marked updated October 7, 2026 lists utility and manhole adjustments during the week of October 5, street striping the week of October 12 and project closeout during the week of October 19. The city stresses that this plan can change with weather and construction circumstances. Because the timetable lists an expected closeout period, this article does not assert that all work has been completed or that every affected street has reopened.

For any immediate travel, parking or driveway-access question, residents should check the newest project posting and on-street notices rather than treating the October 7 update as a live closure map.

What work is included?

The city’s listed scope includes replacement of damaged asphalt, grinding or milling, new asphalt, slurry seal, repair of curbs and gutters where needed, adjustments to utility covers, and replacement of certain pavement markings and traffic signs. The exact operation varies by street; the full project scope does not mean every location will receive every treatment.

Pismo Beach says affected neighborhoods are normally provided approximately 72 hours’ notice ahead of slurry seal work on their roadway and may receive door-hanger notices shortly before work. These general notification practices should not be interpreted as confirmation of a notice for any specific street.

Where to find the budget and public records

The city’s official Agenda Center provides Council and commission agendas, archives and meeting videos, while the project page should carry the latest progress details. The city lists City Hall at 760 Mattie Road, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, telephone (805) 773-4657.

Local roadwork affects neighborhood access, business deliveries and pedestrians as well as vehicle traffic. Pismo Beach News encourages residents to report dated public notices, confirmed route changes and project questions for follow-up.
